Don’t give the DM ideas.
Lurker 15th May 2024, 11:55 PM edit delete reply
The DM already has ideas a lot worse than these ones. :D

I can totally see a possessed padlock being played for laughs, though. On the part of the DM and/or cartoonist. :-P

In the book Black Easter by James Blish, there actually is a possessed lock on a door.

Or one of those abusive locks!

I'm love the multifaceted implication of a 'Possessed Padlock' in a dungeon.

Also, isn't a Paladin-Warlock multiclass a Padlock?

That's nothing. One of my world's deities is Pog'Gathra -- and a ship of Hers that the PCs currently own is named Pog'Gathra's Champion. I did NOT realize they'd just shorten it to PogChamp when I gave it to them.

The possessed padlock, I'm using tonight. My thursday group is about to uncover a Goonies ship in an underground grotto...

That's a nice swamp-dungeon

Locked doors in the swamp district of the dungeon doesn't strike me as likely, but if they find a locked treasure chest, the smugness is going to be legendary.

Unless of course he unlocks a Mimic, which would be great fun to see.

The ceiling look like a grotto, the bottom is a swamp and the middle is abandoned city.

Quite a the mix you got there. Let it be said that like your desing ideas are original.

"I'm not a *possessed* padlock, you morons! I'm a *judgemental* padlock! Can't you tell the difference? Do you even have eyes? I'm not even a dungeon monster, I just ran away from ol' fatass' dumb shop..."

Never mind the padlocks. What does the business model of a Marblegate merchant look like?
padanew 16th May 2024, 6:58 AM edit delete reply

Fun monsters in the swamp! Dire Nutria! Pygmy Giant Boas! (i. e. Normal sized snakes) Living Canals. And the worse one of all water hyacinths!

Your welcome.

First a sewer, now a swamp. Someone's taking "down and dirty" a bit too literally here.
Bookeater_otaku 17th May 2024, 1:03 AM edit delete reply
The opposite, a squeaky clean dungeon floor seem worse would trigger all the danger warning in my head. You can almost trust a down and dirty dungeon floor to be what it is.

Now, are Froblin merchants merchants that are Froblins, or that sell Froblins? Or both?

Randulf secretly cares about everyone's well-being. It's so secret that absolutely nobody suspects this to be true, and anybody who finds out has to die.
